is built on subsidies, oil and toxins.
It is built to produce as much as possible with as little labor as possible. Soil fertility, Soil erosion, clean water , gigantic dead zones in the Ocean, climate change, none of that really matters to our system.
Our system tries to produce as much food of a monoculture as possible, whereas smaller polycultures are many more times productive per unit of land.
And frankly I don't see eliminating the labor as all that desirable neither.
