I am not a fan of this type of donation

to me, there should not be restrictions like this. I understand why it was done, but the point of academics is not to be biased or lead in any certain directions...it is about the research giving you the answers....
To come in with a bias that you ascribe to a certain theory shows you are close minded and not a researcher...in my opinion.
That would be like someone giving money for climate change research but stipulating those that do the research have to have a belief one way or another.
At the same point, there is good to have a department that does have people with different view points as well, which can lead to very fruitful discussion (not always, but sometimes). I think this latter is why some Supreme Court Justices change over time in how they rule...my opinion.
The last point...I know schools are always willing to take money, and then try to find loopholes to use it in whatever way they want.
