All play for teams in a women’s professional league and they are paid by their team.
U.S. Soccer, the national team sponsor pays them for being on the U.S. team. So much pe game. I.e. a given amount for the qualifying games, a higher amount for the World Cup games. Every team member is paid whether or not she actually plays in a game.
FIFA pays prize money for doing well/winning the World Cup. It sells the broadcast rights.
Each team member gets about 200K total from being on the national team & winning the World Cup.
That 200K is much less than the men. Part of the issue is the broadcast rights for the Men’s World Cup sell for much higher amounts than the broadcast rights for the Women’s World Cup.
