he will not be on this roster. Do they have something like WAR in baseball where it gauges the value of a single player? I'd think Dru alone is worth at least 4 wins above replacement, if you're comparing him to a FR Pinson. And a full-season healthy Mark, esp. as a JR, is probably worth another 3 wins over the Mark last year.
Then you add in the maturation of the existing roster, with the additions of Jackson and Brown (and Okongo I guess). Let's assume the returning healthy players are worth 2 wins over younger versions of themselves. So can the new guys have a higher replacement value than Puryear? Oh I think so, but conservatively let's say 2 wins over KP.
So with all of that said, you're at 11 wins over last year without Jontay even factored in to the mix. I think that's pretty accurate.
