politics with people on the other side, like debating what happened in a ball game or something, but people are so emotionally invested now. I had a professional colleague who was a city Democrat, African American, but he was a Mizzou fan so we would talk Mizzou and politics. We talked about the Todd Akins fiasco in a detached way, about how stupid his answer was and how easily it should have been to sidestep that question that Jaco threw at him, for an example. No emotion, no argument. It was what it was.
I don't do a lot on facebook anymore, but one of my own sisters unfriended me shortly after Trump's improbable election because I liked a pro-Trump post. Normally I avoid politics on facebook but just liked a page. We hadn't conversed until another sibling died recently and we got along alright, didn't talk politics.
Religion was another aspect of that deal but I'll leave that alone for now. Suffice to say I was the only one, except for one maybe, who didn't go to Catholic schools who is for sure a believer today.
