Do you protect your children from every harm or is there value for them learning to face and overcome adversity?
As parents it is mostly within our power to completely protect our children. We all know parents who do this to some extent. Do we look at those people as great parents?
I have alway held what I call the ant farm approach to God. If you ever had an ant farm as a kid you wanted the farm to grow and prosper. But as a collective not individual ants. There were far too many ants and it was impossible to differentiate. As the colony did it’s thing some individual ants died in the process.
I believe that God created our universe (what caused the Big Bang) and for the most part has sat on the sidelines and observed since then.
Science tries to answer the how questions. Religion attempts to answer the why questions. I find both to be completely compatible.
