While there IS a active group of Dems leaning farther to the left, they are the minority. The substantial wins in the Mid-terms were comprised of moderates mostly in the burbs with tons of women voting and winning. The press and the Right press loves the shiny new pretty ones like AOC, but again that is a minority of the party as I can see.

ALL Trump has done is continue along the same economic trajectory established and maintained by Obama. One look at graph shows that.

And this might be your first rodeo friend, but ALL primaries in our electoral history show that candidates run hard for the base (left or right) during the primaries and swing to the center in the general. Election after election after election. And there is no "Socialist Platform" - sorry.
