He looked great at the combine and so did Hall for that matter.
Lock played for four years... he was 0-4 in bowl opportunities. Two years they didn't make it, and two years they played teams that were 6-6 coming in. Doesn't look good. Lock didn't beat a single ranked team, Florida doesn't count they ended up falling out of the top 25. Lock couldn't beat teams with winning records.
This is a reflection on all the possible NFL draftable players. They said Lock had the best combine of any of the quarterbacks. They said Hall ripped up the combine.
What happened? Mizzou head coach doesn't win games which is part of the fabric of the players. Players play for the head coach.
NFL teams want players who know how to win, who to will themselves to victory, lead the team, do something against all odds, and Mizzou just never did that in four years of Lock.
Is that Locks fault? NOPE!
Barry Odom fault for blundering game after game, making very bad decisions, and never won a game with two weeks to prepare. HUH how does that happen?
Lastly Odom couldn't recruit star players to play with Lock but either way the head coach is the leader of the team. And Mizzou players never showed they could be winners, and that is the head coaches fault.
So it reflected badly against Lock, but his talent got him drafted in the 2nd round.
Meanwhile the Duke QB while there went to three bowl games and won all three. He was the MVP of the two bowl games he played in ... this is why and its a reflection of the coach and his ability to get the most of his players.
If Barry said he we didn't win any bowl games because I'm a bad coach, that is bad for Lock. It says he's not ready to play now. If Odom says we didn't win the bowl games because Lock made mistakes, or whatever he wants to say it won't matter.
Lock didn't win and the Duke QB did.
Its really that simple. The Ohio State QB won! OK QB won MU didn't.
Had Lock been on a team that won their bowl games he would have gone 6th instead of the Duke QB its really that simple.
Talent isn't everything, against all odds winners win!
I think Lock is a winner, but his coach held him back!
