they would be forced to get better. A lot of dynamics would force that issue.
I will say this however, Missouri's recruiting needs to be better if Missouri wants to compete 'every' year at the highest levels of the SEC. This relative argument is based on a number of premises. (1) Not every University is willing to spend resources to consistently win at the highest levels. (2) Many Universities are content to make money as opposed to losing money using the 'mediocrity is okay' model as long as the seasons are winning seasons and the losses are not too ugly. (3) The reality is outside of a handful of universities this is the preferred model irrespective of lip service.
