1) his b12 network isn't a b12 network. it's filler content on a streaming platform alongside all the other low-value content that doesn't make it to broadcast.

2) the conference didn't "pool" anything. 8 schools gave their rights away as part of negotiations for the conference championship game, while 2 conspicuously didn't.

3) there is now a VERY solid line of distinction between OU & Texas vs. the rest of the league. when it comes time to "renegotiate" any deal with espn, it's no longer a 2 party negotiation (conference & espn) it's 4 (lesser 8, espn, OU, Texas) and each of those parties is now free to act in its own best interest.




this isn't an act of tightening the binds that hold the big 12 together. it's the exact opposite. it's untangling OU & Texas from the rest of the league.
