And Travis Robinson didn't stick, so had those two left the talent level would have pretty much been in the toilet. There really hadn't been a decent high school recruit added other than Dooling/Gilbert since Thames in 1993. There were some legit concerns that Kareem Rush was going to look elsewhere too.

That said, it was almost 100% due to the desire to fund a new arena.
