A native of Moberly, Rich Daly is a former Greyhound that played under legendary coach Cotton Fitzsimmons from 1958-60. He returned to campus and served as men’s head coach from 1967 until 1972 and compiled a five-year record of 101-61.
He had two teams that qualified for the NJCAA National Championship Tournament played at Hutchinson, Kan. With his 1968-69 squad finishing eighth with a record of 24-10, and the next season his Hounds reached the title game and ended up as runner-up national champions while posting a 31-8 record.
Daly left Moberly to make his home in Florida where he coached six seasons at Pensacola Jr. College. He served as assistant coach at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and from 1983-99 at the University of Missouri under legendary coach Norm Stewart.
Arment said Rich is living in Florida and he is not able to attend the Greyhounds Reunion, however, there will be a video taped message of Daly talking about his Moberly Greyhounds memories during the Saturday luncheon.
