They believe in wealth redistribution and think they can influence income inequality through a combination of high taxes and min wages. They also believe the essentials in life (shelter, food, healthcare..although these change over time) should be a right (meaning provided by someone or government).
On the social side, it is scattered now...it used to be for social freedom, but now it is a demand to not judge anyone on top of that.
I am not sure exactly what the Dem platform is, as unlike the Republicans in 2106, they really did not allow debate in that area since they gave the nomination to Hillary.
