with a lot of these other situations, it's in everyone's best interest to keep their mouths shut. in this one, she was already screaming from the mountaintops trying to extort money out of anyone with a pocketbook. she had at least some evidence of wrongdoing and she was certainly not on the same side as the AD, so denial wan't really a plausible option. they could attack her character, which i would assume they did, but that at least partially points right back at them for hiring and employing her. refusing to cooperate might help but seems like that's much riskier than doing what they did, which appears to be pointing and putting the blame all on her. and it appears the NCAA agreed with that.
really the only part of this that is off is the punishment. probably should have been something, but not what was handed down.
