indicates the opposite but he did keep the basketball team out of the hunger strike stuff which Pinkel's football team jumped into and Kumar was at the school while Kim was coaching - no sanctions against the basketball team.

I suspect the reason for some of the suspensions was academic. If he hadn't done that we might be looking at scholarship reduction and postseason ban.
