I’ll try to frame it a different way so you might see the light.
Is a background check only to ensure a dangerous person doesn’t purchase a gun, or should lists exist to remove the person to a place where there is no chance to have any access to the gun, which seems to be what you want to prevent?
I think you’d acknowledge a person can get access without a purchase or commit mayhem without a weapon, making them a danger in any regard.
Think logically on this and not with emotion.
