Production facilities. The vast majority of colleges (and probably pro) stadiums will simply not need to be that big going forward as more and more will choose the comfort of home over standing in lines, fitting their obese ass in between other obese asses on a bleacher and fighting traffic. Colleges and pros are better served by providing quality Tv content than in-game experience as that is where the money Is and will be.
I think the SEZ project was reflective of this fact focusing on suites and party spaces while the bulk of the space is focused on being able to attract recruits that can provide quality content for TV.
Unfortunately, I think Mizzou Arena was overbuilt. Simply can’t fill an arena at Mizzou, on a regular basis, with that capacity. Not a populous enough area.
Mizzou is better focused on building amenities that attract recruits than fans.. The home experience is simply hard to beat. One fan amenity they ought to try to move to are roomy seats with cup holders and that kind of thing. Probably would need to reduce capacity some more but premium seating is where the money is in terms of in-game attendance.
