Sophie is an amazing player, obviously, but she has always been limited to an extent on offense. She is not a classic scorer, who can hit from anywhere and create her own shot. She was one of the best players of all time in MO high school play, with basically a great 3 point range and ability to have her way inside against smaller players.
Fast forward to college, and well into her junior year she had 3 ways to score, 3 point shots, free throws, and lay ups. That's it. She has almost no mid range game, the ability to take on a defender one on one and pull up and get a mid range jump shot. It's just not in her skill set. Yes she makes everyone around her better, but she is just not capable of taking over a game offensively at will, which is what Mizzou desperately needs her to do at times.
Totally agree that players like Levy and Berg are the future of the program, and need to have the minutes to develop. If Levy is being punished now in effect for turnovers that is strange, because the turnover problems on this team last year and this year are due primarily to careless play by, yes, Sophie and other front court players.
