Asians score better across the board including first generation asians. Why? Because there exists a culture that highly values education. The number one correlate to academic achievement is parental involvement. Do you know what group has the lowest parental involvement? Blacks.
Parents that send their kids to private schools are usually very involved in their education and are usually very educated themselves.
