I haven't followed this very closely, but I don't believe CNN has been banned, just their one a**hole reporter. The key lines in that story were:
Boutrous called the White House's move to revoke Acosta's hard pass "the definition of arbitrariness and capriciousness."
"What are the standards?" Boutrous asked. "Rudeness is not a standard. If it were no one could have gone to the press conference."
Yes. There were many reporters at that press conference. Many of them asked hard, difficult questions. But only Acosta was banned after it. That would seem to be all the proof that is needed that it was his actions and not his content that led to him being banned. And CNN's own attorney admitted that as that was his own statement.
CNN has no case whatsoever. They are not banned, so their rights have not been damaged at all. Acosta has a claim as an individual, but his banning was justified based on his actions. Done.
