he's lauded as a conservative, but his "outspending the Soviets" is seen as a triumph. He was no conservative

Secondly, not a single thing Reagan did resulted in the collapse of the USSR. Socialism fails and Ludwig von Mises predicted its failure. I've linked to his highly important and influential work that destroyed Socialism. I suggest you read it.
