So yeah, it's a game of chicken. We will tax you, you tax us, let's see who can hold out the longest.

If we win the trade war, the other country drops its tariffs and we drop ours. So we both win.

In your scenario, we accept the tariffs, allow our industry to be damaged and fear that trade wars may escalate and OMG, that would be terrible.

We should just obama our way along in the world.

BTW, the silly little game of chicken that reagan played with the soviet union is why the soviet union doesn't exist. We out spent them. Forced them to spend money they didn't have.
