"Coleman led the Bears in scoring this season, averaging 14.2 points per game, but shot just 32.8% from the field and 24.3% from three-point range. For his career, Coleman shot 33.9% from the field, and 23.6% from three-point range."
He averaged 14.2 on an average of 12.9 FGA a game. Awful.
"Tapped to be Cal's starting point guard at the beginning of the season, Coleman finished the season coming off the bench, and averaged 1.9 assists per game. After racking up three 30-point performances in his first four games, Coleman averaged 12.1 points over the final 26 games."
So, he was benched, averaged 1.9 assists per game and didn't do much at all the majority of the season before transferring because Cal was overrecruiting him---as a junior.
And, what did he do under CM's coaching? 4.6 points a game. He only averaged 14.6 after CM left.
Come on. Coleman is not a very good data point for this argument.
