He would've no doubt scored more points if left to his own devices, but he ultimately did what his coach asked of him and what was best for the team.
Clark, to my knowledge, didn't have any significant clashes with his coaches regarding style of play. His were classroom concerns.
Neither of those guys fit the category of clashing with coaches/thriving at a bad low-major team where he can do whatever he wants and winning doesn't matter.
