This is about managing his sons careers and making sure that they have the right support more than hanging on to a job.

Sr. has talked at length about how when his boys are on NBA teams, they will be teammates with "Grown men with grown men vices."

The number one concern for the family is making sure the boys are looked after. The fact that they will be rich going forward makes that kind of transition easier. This isn't an indictment on Sr for getting high paying jobs based on the talent of his sons, but of a different priority for them going forward.
