they had a tough, gritty, never yield reputation and they played like it. Fun team to watch. EE could maximize the talent that he had. And yes; he ran off a bunch. It's one way you upgrade your roster to the players that fit your style and have the talent you want. Yes; he lost some great pitchers towards the end, but that was well after the lynch mob had formed and Mack had turned on him and the negative publicity was hanging over him every day.
