Once the FBI got the IG report McCabe was demoted on the spot, that should have been you first hint that something was remiss. The FBI’s internal Office of Professional Responsibility looked at the case and recommended he be fired. They were aware at the time that he was retiring in a matter of weeks.
That they were willing to take the black eye and fire someone already out the door should also tell you something.
This was not a political firing it was recommended from within the FBI. That also tells me that the rank and file are tired of the FBI being viewed as a political tool and want to get back to their professional standards. Yes Trump wanted him gone for well founded political reasons but he is not the force behind this termination.
