Why wouldn't he keep notes on meetings, etc?

I doubt that there is some bombshell in there though. If he had something like that, we would likely be aware of it already based on his past history of leaks.

At a minimum, it would have already been on Mueller's desk the day he was appointed as SC so this is highly unlikely to steer things in any new direction or be a smoking gun of any sort.
