I know players have been paid for a long time above and beyond the scholarships that are offered to most. That has created the very same problem that I think paying all players would create. If we cannot control no payment now how can we control "some" payment, even if on the surface it is the same for all. It might even get to be a bigger problem because we have opened the door to payment and created several additional issues: the cost of living in L.A. is more than in Omaha, Nebraska; how far you move from home to play bb impacts plane tickets for getting home; big guys eat more than small girls but all athletes should get the same stipend. I would be in favor of letting kids go out of high school to where ever they want to go, be it a developmental league or the NBA, but keep college sports free from the poison of payments and punish severely coaches who break the law, schools who are complicit and repetitive, and disqualify players for the remainder of their eligibility if found braking the law. Thoughts?
