I didn't mean at the time MU joined the SEC they were immediately the second strongest and most formidable program to UK. Just that in terms of overall men's basketball success and pedigree and taking the sport seriously they were second in conference behind UK.
It should be noted, that many SEC programs have put an increased focus on men's basketball with the influx of resources of the SEC network. So all of that is shifting, and its a good thing we started trying again so as to not be left behind.
