Look at what happened to Oklahoma after Heild left. They went from 29 wins to 11. Yea, there were some other factors so not all of those losses are because of Heild being gone.
Woodard went from an offensive rating of 120 playing next to Heild, to 104 without.
The opposite example was Ball at UCLA, he changed the culture of that team.
Alford's offense rating went from 115 before Ball, to 129 after.
Elite players let role players be role players.
I do acknowledge that KA was too committed to his hi-lo offense, even though his players were better fits to an offense like what Mizzou is going to run this year.
