per se as to why they are together. It's usually more just about a guy being really good at something or standing out in some way that creates a status different from other guys around.

If J-Law's purpose in terms of that guy is solely to advance her own career through his professional pull, then banging him is probably the worst thing she can do. Because invariably they will fight and break up, and if its a bad break up, she will have actually hindered her professional network rather than enhanced it. It's definitely something else going on there between them.
