Two things when reading this that were odd.
“When he found out that there may be tapes out there — whether it’s governmental tapes or anything else, and who knows — I think his story may have changed,” Trump said. “You’ll have to take a look at that because then he has to tell what actually took place at the events. And my story didn’t change — my story was always a straight story, my story always was the truth."
First, the story coming out of the WH changed 5 times. Sanders, Spicer, Tweets, Rosenstein, Trump himself all produced conflating stories about why Comey was fired. To call that 'straight' is laughable.
Second:
He is bragging about the threatened tapes in order to force Comey to tell the truth. And yet, the day that Comey testified, he said "Despite so many false statements and lies [from Comey]..." Wait, so was your move brilliant because it forced Comey to tell the truth or did Comey lie, as you said?
