Pittsburg State men’s basketball coach Kim Anderson has announced the addition of Jason Owens and Jon Gilliam to his coaching staff.
Owens was formerly an assistant coach at Moberly Area Community College, while Gilliam was a staff member alongside Anderson at Missouri.
“I am excited to add Jon and Jason to our coaching staff,” Anderson said in a press release. “I feel both will do a tremendous job mentoring and helping our student-athletes improve as players and grow and mature as young men leading to their degree from Pittsburg State.”
A native of Paris, Missouri, Gilliam was a graduate assistant from 2014-16 at Missouri before serving as the program’s video coordinator in 2016-17. After two years at Moberly, Gilliam played for Anderson for two seasons at Central Missouri.
As a senior in 2014, Gilliam helped the Mules post a 30-5 record en route to the NCAA Division II national championship.
“I had the privilege of coaching Jon in college and he has been involved with winning programs his whole playing career,” Anderson said. “He will bring a great deal of knowledge and energy to our program.”
