Consider this path to 8 wins for the season (8-5 record)....

• another mediocre 7-5'ish bowl team

That's an 8-5 record, without beating a single good team (based on current expectations), and a losing 3-5 record in the SEC (only beating Vandy, KY, and USCe@home).

On top of that, the other 5 games are ALL winnable (no Bama, LSU, etc.) and favorable in terms of the home/away venue:

Florida (at home)
Tennessee (at home)
Auburn (at home)
Georgia
Arkansas

This is why many people are saying that 8-5 should be the minimum expectation for next season. The schedule presents an incredible opportunity to get back to respectability and capitalize on it by landing some of those prized MO recruits.
