a bunch of folks didn't have a choice about whether or not they wanted to 'serve', and then were summarily sent to their deaths.

I was watching part of a special on Nam yesterday and, seriously, Johnson and Nixon should have been tried and hanged for continuing to send troops to Nam when they knew we couldn't 'win' anything there, but kept drafting folks anyway.
