But my point is the degree to which caring dictates actions at the expense of facts and results. As an example, with welfare we have "cared" so much we have regulated huge segments of the black community to dependency and hopelessness. Failing families, failing schools and cultural decay. But more of the same because "we care" too much to expect more from them.

It is the hallmark of the modern left.
