because they feel particularly vulnerable here. There are increasing numbers of folks who feel just like Hokie does - just keep them all out, get rid of them all, etc.

I don't think you see it from leading clerics within the countries that are seen as promoting or tolerating it. Some of that is probably attributable to the fact that political expression in those countries is muted. Most of it is probably fear of retribution.
