take the abortion clinic shooters, for example. They very much take action based on religious beliefs.
To me, the difference is this. When a Christian goes off the rails, most mainstream Christians don't ratify the behavior. I suppose some quietly celebrate that the victims "had it coming" but typically, the perpetrator is caught and punished.
Moderate Muslims don't seem to express much outrage at these events. Yes, you'll get the blanket political denunciation by the political PAC, but you don't see a majority of Muslims out there trying to get control of the extremists. Whether they're scared or powerless, I don't know, but it comes off as tacit approval.
