Further, tradition holds that 25 yrs is a cultural/historic marker of time. Those riots were a very big deal as was the cause, trial and underlying circumstances that led to them. That anyone finds that ESPN would report on it is more a reflection on one pointing it out than on the Network.

I have no answer to ESPN's fall, other than perhaps to suggest that back in the day there were far fewer options in media, entertainment and sports than there are today.
