I was a contractor, ran my own s corp for years.

I paid both sides of SSN (15%), paid for health care , paid for travel , then paid myself as an employee. Took out feds, state tax.

Trust me, it sure wasn't 15%.

I just love how progressives always try to talk about just one tax rate at a time, pretending that ssn, medicare, state, local taxes don't exist when talking federal, in order to make their plan seem reasonable.

when it's not.
