historically, you're absolutely right that they'd view it that way. The old hard-line ideologues have certainly propped up NK. You have to wonder though, if they'd consider that in today's modern world, it's not as much of a threat to have a unified peninsula. They could actually save money by not having to feed NK's people to keep that silly regime in place. No more drain.
