Right now he plays for fun and gets to be a kid for a while. One thing you will never be again is a kid. He's having fun. And I think he should continue to do that. Barring an extremely rare occurrence of a a career-threatening injury, it all points to staying in HS - where he is having fun. The League is a job. What's the hurry to do that. Family is FINE financially.
