on legislation up here (particularly Chicago). One of highest state gas taxes in nation, and the additional taxes the cities and suburbs in Chicagoland area place on gas/tires etc or anything that drives the infrastructure funding is pretty insane.

Even with all that I'm convinced ALL major Interstates at least in the Chicagoland area will be switching to Tollways in 10-15 years. I'd suspect I-55 from STL to Chicago will also turn over in that time frame.
