The cost of solar has dropped dramatically in all areas to make solar competitive with dirty energy.
Since I entered the solar industry in 2006 prices have dropped from:
Solar Panels: $3.50/watt in 2006 down to $0.35/watt today
Solar inverters: $0.50/watt in 2006 down to $0.08/watt today
Roof racking (residential) $0.75/watt in 2006 down to $0.19/watt today
Fixed Tilt racking (utility scale) $0.35/watt in 2006 down to $0.07/watt today
Single Axis Tracker: $0.50/watt in 2006 down to $0.12/watt today
The labor $/hour has risen, but the equipment manufacturers and construction companies have lowered the man hours by 50% or so...
There is NO NEED for a solar tax credit if Dept of Commerce would remove the CVD on Chinese cells/solar panels and Taiwan solar cells.
