and SS is not the primary problem. Defined benifits pension plans for public sector workers are ridiculously lavish compared to SS. These plans need to be eliminated. The standard for the private sector is SS plus 401k and that should be the standard for the public sector. Also, no one should receive a dime of retirement benefit before the age of 65. We also need to clean up tha fraud ridden SS disability program.
