a federal arts program. The average person spends about 5 cents a month on that program. Maybe less. And that's if the average person paid the average taxes.
Defense. Let's get real. Trump wants to have more spending on "macho" stuff with no regard for whether it keeps us safe. You can't have a foreign policy that's withdrawn from the world, but have a military designed to win wars in two simultaneous theaters against major powers. Which is it? Do you want to project power or do you want to withdraw? We could spend a fifth of our military budget and still protect our homeland. This is about projecting power around the world.
I'm not saying we can't find waste to cut, but this isn't the way to do it. Important programs that will drive our current and future economy are being cut so we can buy a few jets and an aircraft carrier.
