From 2001 to 2010, the defense budget increased by 75%, from about $400B to about $700B:

The world wasn't 75% more dangerous in the aftermath of 9/11. Nor is our military 75% more powerful or lethal. We're not 75% safer either.

Defense manufacturers and contractors have been laughing all the way to the bank since 9/11. It's obscene...
