to provide something as important as medical care.

Why on earth would you ever want to create a bureaucratic, monopoly to centrally design a macro structure of providing individual medical care at the microlevel?

Additionally, why are you so intent on sending an enormous chunk of money to Washington DC, only for that money to be sent right back to your locality?

Also, why is health care different? Do you want a central entity organizing and providing other market goods? Like food? TVs? Carpet tiles? If it is so beneficial in health care, why not stretch it to all industries?
