know is that there are several hundred D1 basketball programs. None of them had to go the route of hiring a D2 coach, and none of them are so financially hamstrung that they have to retain a historical loser simply because they don't have the financial means to even try.
There are 14 men's programs in the nation who received the SEC's recent payout, by far the largest among all programs. We are one of those. Yet we can't even operate like a small time lower level D1 program?
